The Second Annual Foxwoods Food & Wine Festival delighted wine connoisseurs, foodies, home cooks and entrepreneurs alike. The event on September 14-16 included food and wine tastings, seminars, culinary wonders, award-winning wines and spirits, a celebrity poker tournament and even dancing trees.
Sponsored by Food & Wine Magazine and hosted by Foxwoods Resort Casino®, the event combines award winning wines and spirits with prestigious culinary talents.
The Grand Tasting Room presented guests with samples of some of the best wines, spirits and foods the nation has to offer. Seminars by world-renowned chefs such as Lidia Bastianich, Giada De Laurentiis, David Burke, Masaharu Morimoto, Dave Lieberman and Ming Tsai captivated the audience as they educated and entertained. These headliners didn’t stop there. After their demonstrations, they spent hours signing books and graciously taking pictures with the long lines of participants of the festival.
The wine and spirits sessions included something for everyone. There was a textbook lesson complete with slide show on the making of 100% Blue Agave Tequila, featuring an array of top shelf tequilas and cocktails presented by an expert mixologist. Another session showcased award-winning wines from women winemakers and women-owned wine businesses paired with enticing hors d’oeuvres all presented by the internationally known wine education and consumer group, Divas Uncorked. Other sessions covered Pinot Noir Around the World and Uncommon Pairings in Italian Wine and Cheese.
